I have been sailing for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I spent my summers sailing the waters of Buzzards Bay on my grandfather’s Concordia Yawl. My grandfather instilled in my brothers and me a deep appreciation for the value and beauty of sailboats, sparking a lifelong passion for sailing. Racing one design dinghies in juniors, high school, and college, I was named All American Crew three times, won first place at three ICSA national team race championships, and second place at ICSA open dinghy nationals. I taught sailing at clubs from Long Island Sound to San Francisco Bay through my mid twenties, at which point I moved into the classroom to follow another passion, teaching English. I dedicated many years to helping adolescents build their literacy skills, as well as their values. All the while, I have stayed involved in racing, cruising, and blue water sailing. I have cruised the east and west coasts and delivered boats to Bermuda and Nassau, Bahamas. My career in the maritime industry began as a yacht charter broker, connecting clients with bareboat and crewed yachts in Narragansett Bay and worldwide. In my role at Bluenose Yachts, I love that I can share with others my lifetime understanding of the sheer delight of sailing.
