The brand-typical cockpit design with the Walkaround concept is of course also retained in the latest model. The recessed running decks allow safe, barrier-free passageways around the helm stations and at the same time ensure efficient handling during all manoeuvres. This concept has already proven itself many times over in tests of the current Sun Odyssey models.
Nevertheless, the cockpit design of the new flagship has been further developed. The high coamings now completely enclose the seat thwarts – even in the stern area. The sheet winches are positioned on platforms directly in front of the helm stations so that the helmsman and crew can work ergonomically and efficiently. Halyards and trim lines are led over the coachroof and operated on two stopper batteries with winches to the side of the companionway. As standard, the Sun Odyssey 455 is equipped with a twin-reef aluminium mast, classic mainsail and overlapping genoa. Alternatively, a furling mast or a self-tacking jib are available.
